Organized by Valerie Tonkin, Rick was lucky to follow an appearance by Santa Claus. There was a small thinning of the crowd. Still, at a guess, the audience topped 40 book fans.
After reading chapter 1, Rick was asked a number of great questions to do with:
- his writing habits
- why he picked Grand Bend as a setting
- the origins of his characters (is that my creepy neighbour in the book? The answer was ‘not to my knowledge.”)

I love all the conversations but the favorite line for me was Panda Cubs Untite I could see the 3 babies recite that in my mind with silly grins on their faces and a proud fist in the air. Panda Lovers Unite now throw the flower in your hand their way, while they enjoy the silly grin on your faces. With some help I am going back in the blogs to start reading P WONG’S writings It will take time to catch up but well worth it. They are so creative and vivid I cannot help but imagine Gao Gao with a smiling face and glasses, but have no idea why. Is his sight failing or does he think they make him look wise????????
